Washing Your Couture Garments
Dry Cleaning (Recommended)
Whenever possible, we recommend taking your garment to a trusted dry cleaner. This is the safest way to preserve the fabrics, structure, and finishes of your piece.
Hand Washing (If Dry Cleaning Is Not Available)
If dry cleaning isn’t an option, you can carefully hand wash your garment at home:
Fill your bathtub with lukewarm water and add one scoop of Dreft laundry detergent. Mix well to ensure the detergent is fully dissolved with no residue.
Turn your garment inside out, then gently submerge it in the water. Hand wash with light movements - avoid twisting or wringing.
Drain the tub and rinse thoroughly with clean water until all soap is removed.
Gently press or pat out excess water (never wring).
Hang to air dry in a cool space away from direct sunlight.
The Power of Steaming
We recommend steaming your garment before each wear. Steaming not only refreshes the fabric and removes any wrinkles but also helps maintain the garment’s original shape and drape. Unlike ironing, steaming is gentle and safe for delicate materials, trims, and lace.
A freshly steamed garment elevates your entire look - crisp, polished, and undeniably elegant. It’s a simple ritual that keeps your couture piece looking refined in the moment while also extending its longevity for years to come.
Over the years, our team has tried countless steamers across every price point. One has consistently stood above the rest: the Conair Turbo Extreme Steam Handheld Fabric Steamer. Reliable, powerful, and easy to use, it’s the tool we trust most to keep our garments looking runway-ready at home. We don’t receive any endorsements for saying this - it’s simply the steamer we love and use ourselves.
